OC-3 to IS-3 Interface Interconnection 10
For intraoffice applications, the OC-3 interface can interwork with another OC-3
interface or an IS-3 interface using multimode fiber.
The IS-3 interface is a Lucent Technologies proprietary interface that operates at
the same rate and format as the OC-3 interface.
Table 10-16 shows the span maximum distances, using dispersion limited fiber,
for OC-3 to OC-3 connections and OC-3 to IS-3 connections.
