Technical Specifications
10-42 Issue 8.0 July 2002
Operations Interfaces 10
â– Office alarms: The steady state current for office alarm connections should
not exceed 0.9 A at 60 V or 1.8 A at 30 V. The maximum transient currents
(20 msec duration) during initial contact closure should not exceed 9 A at
60 V or 18 A at 30 V.
â– Parallel Telemetry: The parallel telemetry interface is designed for a
maximum open circuit voltage of 60 V and a maximum current of 35 mA.
â– Miscellaneous Discretes: Any external customer equipment to be
monitored by the FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System must provide the
electrical equivalent of a contact closure across the corresponding
environmental input wiring pairs. The contact closure must be capable of
passing at least 10 mA of drive current.
The power source to enable the FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System to
control external customer equipment may be from a minimum of 3 V to a
maximum of 72 V. The FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System provides a
unidirectional opto-isolator connection across each corresponding control
output wiring pair. The load current across each control output wiring pair
must be limited by the external customer equipment and must not exceed
35 mA.
â– Telemetry Byte-Oriented Serial (TBOS) Protocol: The TBOS interface
operates at 2400 baud through an EIA-422 port.
â– X.25 Protocol/Transaction Language 1 (TL1): The TL1/X.25 interface
operates at 1200 to 19,200 baud through an EIA-232-D port.
