Circuit Provisioning Audits 9
In Release 5 and later releases, the FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal
audits (monitors) the following circuit provisioning information related to ring
administration and cross-connections.
Target Identifier (TID) and Node Identifier (NID): Each FT-2000 OC-48
Add/Drop-Rings Terminal in an OC-48 ring must have a unique TID. The
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal automatically detects and
reports any duplicated TIDs.
Circuit Add/Drop Continuity: Each FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings
Terminal in a ring checks each local drop cross-connection. The FT-2000
OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal ensures that there is a continuous path
from each local drop cross-connection back through the ring to a valid add
cross-connection. The FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal
automatically detects and reports breaks in circuit continuity. Conditions
are reported when cross-connections are missing, intermediate
source/destination TIDs are incorrect, and add/drop source/destination
TIDs are incorrect.
In Release 5, if a 1-way DRI cross-connection is in the circuit, only the
active cross-connection (add or through) is checked. To check the standby
cross-connection, the FAULT-SWITCH-PATH-STS3 or
FAULT-SWITCH-PATH-STS1 (Release 7 and later) input must be used to
switch the standby cross-connection to the active state.
The FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal also makes circuit
provisioning information available with the following reports.
STS-3 Tributary Map Report: In releases prior to Release 7, the STS-3
Tributary Map Report displays the cross-connections involving a single
time slot throughout the ring. For more information about the STS-3
Tributary Map Report, refer to the CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-
Timeslot-STS1 input in Volume I, Section 11, "Craft Interface Terminal
Usage."
STS-1 Tributary Map Report: In Release 7 and later releases, the STS-1
Tributary Map Report displays the cross-connections involving a single
time slot throughout the ring. For more information about the STS-1
Tributary Map Report, refer to the CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-
Timeslot-STS1 input in Volume I, Section 11, "Craft Interface Terminal
Usage."
STS-3 Circuit Map Report: In releases prior to Release 7, the STS-3
Circuit Map Report follows a circuit path and reports all cross-connections
that make up a circuit. For more information about the STS-3 Circuit Map
Report, refer to the CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Circuit-STS3 input in
Volume I, Section 11, "Craft Interface Terminal Usage."
