OHCTL (TERM) (LAA21 and LAA22) Circuit
Pack Description 7
Purpose of Circuit 7
The Overhead Controller - Terminal [OHCTL (TERM)] circuit pack provides
access to the OC-48 SONET overhead channel. The overhead channel contains
SONET line and section overhead bytes. The LAA21 OHCTL (TERM) circuit pack
is required for orderwire access and single-ended operations (for example, CIT
remote login). Two LAA21 OHCTL (TERM) circuit packs are required for the
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminals (equipped with the Enhanced High
Speed Shelf).
OneLAA21(East)OHCTL(TERM)andoneLAA22(West)OHCTL(TERM)circuit
pack are required for the FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal (equipped
with the High Speed Shelf). The LAA21 OHCTL (TERM) circuit pack is compatible
with Releases 2.1.1-TRM, 3.0.1-ADR, and later software. The LAA22 OHCTL
(TERM) circuit pack is compatible with Release 3.0.1-ADR and later software
only.
Faceplate LED 7
The OHCTL (TERM) circuit pack has a red FAULT LED on its faceplate
(Figure 7-7). The red FAULT LED is lighted during a reset condition, when a circuit
pack failure is detected, or when the circuit pack loses power. If the circuit pack
loses power, a separate path is provided for power from the System Controller
(SYSCTL) circuit pack to light the FAULT LED on the OHCTL (TERM) circuit pack.
