In Release 5.0.2 and later releases, a PC must meet the following minimum
requirements to be loaded with FT-2000 CIT-PC software and used as a CIT:
n 386SX IBM

compatible computer (desktop or lap top) (25 MHz or greater
clock)
n Disk drive — one 1.44 megabytes (3.5 inches)
n Hard disk with approximately 5 megabytes of free space
n 4 megabytes RAM

n MS-DOS

computer program, Version 5.0 or later
n Serial port (EIA-232-D) — configured as COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4
n Parallel port — configured as LPT1
n VGA color monitor.
In releases prior to Release 5.0.2, a PC must meet the following minimum
requirements to be loaded with FT-2000 CIT-PC software and used as a CIT:
n Any IBM compatible computer (desktop or lap top)
n Disk drive — one 720 kilobytes (3.5 inches) or one 1.2 megabytes (5.25
inches)
n Hard disk with approximately 5 megabytes of free space
n 640 kilobytes RAM

n MS-DOS computer program, Version 3.1 or later
n Serial port (EIA-232-D) — configured as COM1, COM2, COM3

n Parallel port — configured as LPT1
n 4.77 MHz clock speed or greater
n Monochrome screen monitor — Standard-size ASCII 25 lines x 80
columns.

† No memory resident programs running in the background. 565 kilobytes of free
conventional memory are required. In Release 7 and later releases, 2 megabytes of
extended memory is also required. If less than 565 kilobytes of free conventional memory
are available, a memory manager (for example, HIMEM.SYS with
MS-DOS 5.0 and later) is
required to increase the free conventional memory.
