Circuit Pack Slot and Low-Speed Port
Provisioning States 8
The circuit pack slots may be in one of the following states:
â– AUTO (Auto): AUTO is the original value of the circuit pack slot state
parameter. AUTO refers to a circuit pack slot that is available for automatic
provisioning. A circuit pack slot makes a transition from the AUTO state to
the EQ state when the presence of a circuit pack is detected.
â– EQ (Equipped): EQ refers to a circuit pack slot that is fully monitored and
alarmed. A circuit pack slot makes a transition from the EQ state to the
AUTO state when the CONFIGURATION-Update input is executed while
the absence of a circuit pack is detected.
The low-speed ports (DS3, EC-1, OC3 and OC12) may be in one of the following
states:
â– AUTO (Auto): AUTO is the original value of the low-speed port state
parameter. AUTO refers to a low-speed port that is available for automatic
provisioning. A low-speed port makes a transition from the AUTO state to
the IS state after a good signal is detected. A DS3 low-speed port in the
AUTO state can also be provisioned to the NMON state, using the
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-T3 input. An EC-1 low-speed port in the
AUTO state can be provisioned to the NMON state, using the
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-EC1 input. An OC3 low-speed port in the
AUTO state can be provisioned to the NMON state using the
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC3 input. An OC12 low-speed port in the
AUTO state can be provisioned to the NMON state using the
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC12 input.
â– IS (In Service): IS refers to a low-speed port that is fully monitored and
alarmed. A low-speed port makes a transition from the IS state to the
AUTO state when the CONFIGURATION-Update input is executed while
the absence of a good signal is detected. A low-speed port also makes a
transition from the IS state to the AUTO state when the associated circuit
pack slot makes an EQ-to-AUTO circuit pack slot state transition. A DS3
low-speed port in the IS state can also be provisioned to the AUTO or
NMON state, using the CONFIGURATION-Set-State-T3 input. An EC-1
low-speed port in the IS state can be provisioned to the AUTO or NMON
state, using the CONFIGURATION-Set-State-EC1 input. An OC3
low-speed port in the IS state can be provisioned to the AUTO or NMON
state using the CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC3 input. An OC12
low-speed port in the IS state can be provisioned to the AUTO or NMON
state using the CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC12 input.
