Maintenance Description
9-92 Issue 8.0 July 2002
Reports 9
Active Alarms and Status 9
The FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal and FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bay
provide a report that shows all the local active alarm and status conditions. The
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal also provides a report that shows the
active alarm level at each FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal with active
alarm and status conditions. This report also shows the actual alarm and status
conditions at FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bays with active conditions.
The local active alarms and status report is automatically displayed on the CIT
immediately after a user logs in. The report shows the following alarm levels:
â– Critical (CR)
â– Major (MJ)
â– Minor (MN)
â– Abnormal (ABN)
â– Near-end activity (NE ACTY).
The source address and description of the alarm condition (for example, controller
failure, incoming high-speed signal failure, etc.) are included in the report, along
with the date and time detected. The report also shows if the condition affects
service. The option to display specified subsets of conditions by alarm level is also
provided.
If no LEDs are lighted on the user panel (no active conditions), the report states
"There are no active alarms or status conditions."
If the NE ACTY LED is lighted at the local FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bay or
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal, use the local active alarm and status
report. For more information, refer to the FAULT-Retrieve-Alarm (and
Status), inputs in Volume I, Section 11, "Craft Interface Terminal Usage."
