General Description of Operation 7
The LAA28 LNCTL (4 MEG) circuit pack provides overall administrative control of
up to two OC-48 high speed lines for the FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings
Terminal. The LNCTL circuit pack provides low and high speed protection
switching computations and other line specific computations. It interfaces with the
board controllers on each circuit pack associated with an OC-48 high speed line
and the System Controller (SYSCTL) circuit pack.

Processor. 7Figure 7-6 provides an overall block diagram of the LNCTL circuit pack.
The LNCTL circuit pack is the middle level processor in the three-level control
hierarchy of the FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System.
