1-Way-DRI Cross-Connections 8
A 1-way-DRI cross-connection is a 1-way add cross-connection and a
superimposed 1-way through cross-connection sharing the same destination. The
add cross-connection and through cross-connection share the same outgoing
service 155 Mb/s (STS-3) tributary of OC-48 high-speed line 1E or 1W. For
example, Figure 8-5 shows incoming service STS-3 tributary 3 of OC-48
high-speed line 1W cross-connected to outgoing service STS-3 tributary 3 of
OC-48 high-speed line 1E. Service low-speed interface slot 6B is also
cross-connected to outgoing service STS-3 tributary 3 of OC-48 high-speed line
1E.
A single input enters an active add cross-connection and a standby through
cross-connection.
