TAP-120
Clear ‘Incoming DCC Failure’ or ‘Inc. (From OC48)
DCC Failure’
!
CAUTION:
Do not reset the FT-2000 NEs while trying to clear this problem! This will result in
a “
Ring Incomplete/Open
” that will seriously complicate repair of the
problem.
NOTE:
Failure of the incoming data communications channel (DCC) is usually
associated with hardware failure(s) at the source of the incoming OC-48 signal
or with other troubles involving the incoming OC-48 signal from that source.
NOTE:
The inc. (from OC48) DCC failure condition applies to Release 6 and
later whereas the incoming DCC failure condition applies to Release 5 and
earlier.
1. At the CIT, select FAULT-Retrieve-Alarms (and Status) to obtain the
Active Alarms and Status Report.
2. Referring to the report obtained in Step 1, are there any conditions other than
inc. (from OC48) DCC failure or incoming DCC failure listed?
If YES, then continue with Step 3.
If NO, then continue with Step 6.
3. Referring to the report obtained in Step 1, identify the topmost condition other
than the inc. (from OC48) DCC failure or incoming DCC failure condition.
NOTE:
While following the instructions in the procedure(s) to which you will now be
sent, you MUST ignore the inc. (from OC48) DCC failure or the
incoming DCC failure condition in the Active Alarms and Status Report.
For example, if you are asked whether there are any alarm or status conditions
listed and the only condition shown in the report is inc. (from OC48) DCC
failure or the incoming DCC failure, the answer is NO.
