The FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal is available in the following
equipment package:
■ FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal for two-Fiber Rings:The
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal for two-Fiber Rings (Figure 3-1)
consists of the J68974E FT-2000 OC-48 Enhanced Lightwave Terminating
Bay (or the J68974A FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave Terminating Bay) and
Releases 3.0.1-ADR

,4.0.0-ADR*, 4.1.0-ADR*, 5.0.1-ADR, 5.0.3-ADR,
6.0.1-ADR, 6.0.2-ADR, 7.0.0-ADR, 7.1.0-ADR, or 7.2.X software.
In this equipment package, the J68974E FT-2000 OC-48 Enhanced
Lightwave Terminating E-Bay consists of a power distribution and fuse
panel, one Low-Speed Shelf — System Controller, a personal computer
(PC) tray, and one Enhanced High-Speed Shelf mounted in a single
seismic network bay framework.
This equipment package provides OC-48 high-speed lines 1W and 1E. The
low-speed interface service capacity of an FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings
Terminal equipped with Release 3.0.1-ADR software is 48 DS3 signals.
The low-speed interface capacity of an FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings
Terminal equipped with Release 4.0.0-ADR or 4.1.0-ADR software is any
combination of 48 DS3 and/or EC-1 signals. The low-speed interface
capacity of an FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal equipped with
Release 5.0.1-ADR, 5.0.3-ADR, 6.0.1-ADR, 6.0.2-ADR, 7.0.0-ADR,
7.1.0-ADR, or 7.2.0 software is 48 DS3 and/or EC-1 signals, or eight 1+1
protected OC-3 signals (16 unprotected), 2 protected OC-12 signals
(4 unprotected), or a mix of DS3, EC-1, OC-3, and OC-12 signals.
* Software releases 3.0.1-ADR through 7.1.0-ADR have been discontinued — effective
June 1996.
