Clear ‘Incoming OC3 APS Byte Fail’ or ‘Incoming
OC12 APS Byte Fail’
NOTE:
This condition means a hardware and/or software failure at this FT-2000
network element or at the network element at the opposite end of the indicated
OC-3/OC-12 line (could be a DDM-2000 network element or an FT-2000
network element).
1. At the CIT, select FAULT-Retrieve-Alarms (and Status) command to
obtain an Active Alarms and Status Report.
NOTE:
The specific condition is found in the Description column of the report.
2. Is there one or more other conditions in the report?
If YES, then continue with Step 3.
If NO, then issue a Trouble Report to the opposite end of the OC-3 line
stating that you are receiving an incoming OC3 APS byte fail or
incoming OC12 APS byte fail condition.
3. Identify the topmost condition other than the incoming OC3 APS byte
fail or incoming OC12 APS byte fail condition in the report. Find this
condition in Table A of TAP-102 and proceed to the referenced TAP.
4. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
