Release Looped Back OC-3 Line(s)
!
CAUTION:
Traffic and service interruption can occur to other OC3 lines if they are
accidentally looped back. Recheck the address of the slot(s) being released
from loopback.
1. Obtain the operation instructions to release the looped back OC3 slot(s) and
note the assigned address.
NOTE:
Loopback occurred at the OC3 slot in either the multiplex direction (towards
the OC-48 line) or the demultiplex direction (towards the lightguide
cross-connect panel). Simultaneous loopbacks in both directions were not
possible.
2. If required, connect and condition the craft interface terminal (CIT).
Reference: DLP-501
3. At the CIT, select FAULT-Release-Loopback-OC3 for the first specified slot
and the direction (either From OC48 or From OC3).
4. Repeat Step 3 for any remaining slot(s).
5. The slot(s) is released from the looped back condition. If you wish to verify,
select FAULT-Retrieve-Alarm for an updated Active Alarms and Status
Report. An example of this report with a description of the output parameters
is provided in Section 11 of this manual.
6. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
