Replace Fan Filter Every Six Months (in D-Bay)
Overview: The equipment manufacturer (Lucent Technologies) suggests that the fan
filter be changed every six-months. Due to the amount of heat generated within the
D-Bay it is necessary that the fan remain powered and continuously circulate air even
while the filter is being changed. Please note, this is a different procedure than
required for the E-Bay. Once the old fan filter has been removed the new fan filter
should be inserted without an interruption.

CAUTION:
Use a static ground wrist strap whenever handling circuit packs or working on an
FT-2000 terminal to prevent electrostatic discharge damage to sensitive
components. See "Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Considerations" in Trouble
Clearing: TAD-100.
1. The filter is accessable from the front of the bay without opening any doors or
removing any covers. It is located approximately 5-inches up from the floor.
There are two plastic loops (one on the right side and one on the left side)
available to pull the filter out of the bay.
2. Place one finger in both plastic loops and pull the old filter from the bay.
3. Obtain the new (replacement) filter and make sure that the arrows, which are
located on the front edge of the filter, are pointing up. Apply equal pressure to
both sides of the filter and gently slide it, within the filter guides, until it is flush
with the front of the bay.
NOTE:
Air flow in the bay is from bottom to top (up).
4. Dispose of the dirty air filter per the local operating instructions.
5. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
