Operations Interfaces
6-22 Issue 8.0 July 2002
Operations system access to the environmental inputs at an FT-2000 OC-48
Repeater Bay is provided through the serial telemetry and X.25 interfaces of an
FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal. The serial telemetry interface has the
capability to report that an environmental input at a repeater site is active. It does
not have the capability to report the status of individual environmental inputs.
Local access to the environmental inputs is provided through the CIT interface
using the FAULT-Retrieve-Alarm (and Status) input. For more
information, refer to the FAULT-Retrieve-Alarm (and Status) input in
Volume I, Section 11, "Craft Interface Terminal Usage." Local access to the
control outputs is not provided.
The miscellaneous discrete (MISC DSCRT 1 and MISC DSCRT 2) interfaces are
located on the interconnection panel of the Low Speed Shelf - System Controller
and the Repeater Shelf - System Controller. The MISC DSCRT 1 and MISC
DSCRT 2 interfaces each provide eight environmental inputs and two control
outputs. Refer to Volume I, Section 3, "Platform Descriptions," for more
information about the physical location of the miscellaneous discrete interface.
Serial Telemetry Interface 6
The FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System supports serial telemetry using the TBOS
protocol. The serial telemetry interface transfers alarm, status, and control
information to and from a remote maintenance center via a 2400-baud EIA-422
port. The serial telemetry link number 1 (SER TLM 1) interface on the
interconnection panel of the Low Speed Shelf - System Controller supports
maintenance at an FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal. The serial
telemetry link number 2 (SER TLM 2) interface on the interconnection panel of the
Low Speed Shelf - System Controller supports maintenance at an FT-2000 OC-48
Repeater Bay. Refer to Volume I, Section 3, "Platform Descriptions," for more
information about the physical location of the serial telemetry interface.
