Administration and Provisioning
8-124 Issue 8.0 July 2002
- "NA": status not alarmed
- "NR": status not alarmed and not reported to the OS.
— The Signal Degrade Threshold is the base 10 logarithm of the DS3
Bipolar Violation error rate threshold. The allowed values are "-3" or
"-6". A signal degrade condition is reported for DS3 signals coming
in from the cross-connect panel with error rates greater than the
threshold.
■ PERFORMANCE-Set-PM Start-Time (TL1= SET-PM-STIME): This input
sets the start time for the measurement of all 24 hour
performance-monitoring parameters. The start time is set relative to the
current clock and time zone. When the command is executed, all
parameters in the current Day bin are marked corrupt with a "?".
— The Start Hour parameter specifies the start hour for all 24 hour
performance-monitoring parameters. The performance-monitoring
parameters will reset and begin daily at the provisioned time.
■ PERFORMANCE-Set-PM Mode-T3 (TL1= ENT-rr): This input specifies
the algorithm used for determining and accumulating DS3 path
performance-monitoring data. The user may select F and M bit adjusted
processing or P-bit processing.
— The DS3 PM Mode parameter specifies the DS3
performance-monitoring algorithm to be chosen. The user may
select F and M-bit adjusted processing or P-bit processing. The raw
F and M framing bit error counts are adjusted to approximate the
actual error count in the DS3 path payload. When the command is
executed, all parameters in the current day and quarter hour bins for
DS3 path performance-monitoring data are marked corrupt with a
"?".
■ PERFORMANCE-Set-PM Threshold-EC1 (TL1 = SET-TH): This input
provisions values for the threshold crossing alert (TCA) parameters
associated with EC-1 ports. Note that these parameters only apply to EC-1
signals received from the cross-connect panel:
— The TCA Autonomous Report parameter specifies whether
autonomous reporting of threshold crossing alerts (TCAs) via TBOS
and TL1 is "Enable" or "Disable" for the selected
performance-monitoring bin and EC-1 port(s).
— The Section Severely Errored Frame Seconds parameter specifies
the number of EC-1 severely errored frame seconds that will cause
a threshold crossing alert for the selected performance-monitoring
bin and EC-1 port(s). This parameter is an integer from 1 to 63
(inclusive) for the quarter-hour bin, and an integer from 1 to 4095
(inclusive) for the day bin.
— The Line Coding Violations parameter specifies the number of EC-1
line coding violations that will cause a threshold crossing alert (TCA)
for the selected performance-monitoring bin and EC-1 port(s). This
