Maintenance Description
Issue 8.0 July 2002
9-19
incoming(from STSX1) EC1 SD A signal degrade (SD) condition has been
detected on an incoming EC-1 line.
incoming(from STSX1) line AIS An EC-1 alarm indication signal (AIS) has
been detected on an incoming EC-1 line.
incoming (from STSX1) path AIS A Path AIS has been detected on an
incoming STS-1 tributary of an OC3 signal.
The OC3 port in question is provisioned as a
DRI cross-connect (1-Way-DRI, 2-Way-DRI,
Pri).
Likely causes: Failure of an upstream EC-1
equipment.
incoming OC3/OC12 AIS An STS-1 path alarm indication signal (AIS)
has been detected on one or more of the
STS-1 signals within an STS-3/STS-12
signal coming from an OC-48 line.
Likely cause: Failure of an upstream
REGENR or TRMTR circuit pack.
incoming OC3/OC12 APS byte fail This condition is associated with a signal
degrade (SD) or an automatic protection
switch (APS) channel failure on the
protection line.
incoming OC3/OC12 line RFI/yellow The far end OC-3/OC-12 terminal is
receiving a line failure from the local
FT-2000 terminal. The far end terminal is
notifying the local FT-2000 terminal of the
failure.
Likely causes: Failure of an outgoing
OC-3/OC-12 line (transmit fiber). Failure of
local OC3/OC-12 circuit pack or far end
OC3/OC-12 circuit pack.
incoming OC3/OC12 LOF An OC-3/OC-12 loss-of-frame (LOF)
condition has been detected on an incoming
OC-3/OC-12 line.
Likely cause: Failure of the far end
OC3/OC12 circuit pack or local OC3/OC12
circuit pack.
incoming OC3/OC12 LOS An OC-3/OC-12 loss-of-signal (LOS)
condition has been detected on an incoming
OC-3/OC-12 line.
Likely causes: Failure of the far end
OC3/OC12 circuit pack, the incoming
OC-3/OC-12 line (receive fiber) or the local
OC3/OC12 circuit pack.
