Craft Interface Terminal Usage
Issue 8.0 July 2002
11-147
The above report shows how the T3 (DS3) port(s) was provisioned and the port
attributes. The report provides information on the violation monitor and removal
mode, the severity of the alarm implied by the failure of the DS3 port, the signal
degrade threshold, and the memory administrative state.
Port
Address
- Shows a specific line (only in Releases 1.1.1 and 2), slot, and
low-speed port (1, 2, or 3) of a DS3 circuit pack.
VMR Mode - Shows the violation monitor removal mode of the DS3 signal, such
as VMR (for monitor and removal of DS3 signal format violations),
VM (for monitor only but do not remove DS3 signal format
violations), and CC (for clear channel) with or without alarm
indication signal (AIS). When CC w/AIS is shown, this means an
AIS signal will be inserted in the DS3 signal that is going in the
opposite direction of the failure.
Alarm
Level
- Shows the highest severity user panel LED that is lit, which is the
alarm that is assigned to the incoming DS3 signal failure. If no
LEDs are lit, then status is shown as NA (not alarmed) or NR (not
reported) if provisioned as such.
Signal
Degrade
Threshold
- Shows the provisioned signal degrade threshold, either −3or−6.
The example shows a −6, meaning the error rate 10
-6
.
Port
State
- Shows the administrative state (from memory) of the port address;
(from DSX or OC48) such as is for in service, auto for automatic,
and nmon for not monitored.
Path RFI
Alarm
- Shows the provisioned alarm level for near-end indications of far
end path related conditions in the drop (from OC-48) direction.
Values are CR, MJ, MN, NA, NR, NO.
