5. Select the recommended Windows operating systems for the PCs of your process cell
configuration (SB servers, SB ).
6. Install the operating system.
You can use images that have already been created.
Software update (standard)
1. Update the software on the engineering station (ES).
2. Update the software on the SB server computer.
3. Update the software on the SB client computer.
4. After a successful update and reboot of the computer, start your SB system.
Note
Since on a single station system, the SB server and the SB clients are installed on one
computer, a software update is only required once.
Software update during operation (SUIR)
To keep the process continuously controllable during a software update, a redundant SB server
is required.
Note the following order during the procedure:
1. Update the software on the engineering station (ES).
2. Update at least one SB client and the SB standby server.
3. Start the updated SB client and the SB standby server after successful updating and
rebooting the computers..
4. Check the status of the SB server.
The SB server data on the standby server are compared completely with the master server
when the standby server reports the status "Listening".
You can check the status of the SIMATIC BATCH server using the symbol of the BATCH
start coordinator or using the shortcut menu command "BATCH status...”.
5. Check the corresponding WinCC status messages in the Alarm Logging "CDV on BATCH
server "server name": CDV is ready for operation".
The message is only displayed when no PH is configured.
The SB standby server is ready to take over when the WinCC status message is displayed.
6. Shut down the SB master server.
This produces a redundancy failover.
The updated SB standby server becomes the SB master server.
7. Update the previous SB master server and all clients that have not yet been updated.
8. After a successful update and reboot of the computers, start the previous SB master server
and the SB clients.
The previous SB master server is now the SB standby server.
