Operations and Maintenance Manual Machine Setup
Version 1.2 - June 2004 9 - 3
MACHINE SETUP
OVERVIEW
This chapter is designed to provide step-by-step procedures for customizing key
features of the wafer grinding process and the processes for truing and dressing the
grind wheels and work chucks.
Actions to be taken by the operator are shown in numbered steps with computer
commands printed in bold type.
Messages Displayed on the Control Computer Screen Take Precedence!
Messages and information displayed on the control computer screen always take
precedence over information in this manual.
Because control computer software can be updated more rapidly than manual
information, onscreen directions may be more current than the contents of this manual.
Should the manual and the screen information conflict, always follow the
onscreen directions.

The procedures below were written with the assumptions that:

Description, and Operator Functions before beginning any procedure.
• the reader has been provided with process parameter data by the process
supervisor.
• the machine has been correctly installed and maintained, per procedures found in
the 7AF Operations and Maintenance manual.
