Top Mount and Bottom Mount
Robots are available in both Atmospheric Top Mount (ATM) and
Atmospheric Bottom Mount (ABM) configurations to accommodate
various processing configurations. For example, a robot might be top-
mounted in a fixture or bottom-mounted on a track.
WETBOTs
A WETBOT is an atmospheric top-mount robot with a chemical resistant
finish. The covers on the arm links have O-ring seals and a seal is
required where the top flange meets the mounting surface. Although
many WETBOTs have a Flipper end effector, any end effector can be
used.
The Series 100 WETBOTs use a harmonic drive for the theta axis. The
speed and acceleration parameters for harmonic drives vary slightly from
the speed and acceleration parameters for other gear systems, given the
same body size and Z travel. Other than this, the WETBOT functions the
same as other atmospheric robots.
