Maintenance and Diagnostics
This section includes step-by-step instructions for performing diagnostics
on the Teach Pendant and with the EQT 32 interface.
Shipping and Storage
If you saved the original shipping container and packing material, use it to
pack and secure the robot for storage or for shipping the unit. To ship the
VAC514 in the original shipping container, you must remove the arm
from the body. Review the instructions for attaching the arm to the body
on page 19.
Environmental requirements for storage are listed on page 9. For shipping
a vacuum robot or storing it for a long period of time, follow these steps.
Steps 1, 2, and 3 apply to the VAC400 only.
1. Rotate the robot arm clockwise to the hard stop.
2. With the hard stop as a reference, rotate the robot arm
counterclockwise 90° from the hard stop.
3. Move the R-axis to its Center Overlapping Position. Maintain this
position while packing the robot.
4. Use tie-wrap or the original formed foam to secure the robot arm in
this position. Even though the VAC514 arm is shipped separately, be
sure to secure the arm links in the Center Overlapping Position such
that the arm links cannot move.
5. Wrap each piece twice with Saran® Wrap.
6. Put in two anti-static bags. For over-seas shipping, use a vacuum-
sealed bag.
7. Pack in the original shipping box.
