Strasbaugh nTellect (Model 7AF) Wafer Grinder
11 - 22 Version 1.2 - June 2004
1. If needed, manually move the bridge to make room for the level on the work
chuck mounting plates:
CAUTION: Always confirm that the digital probes are in up position before
moving the bridge to avoid breaking them off!
a. Open door 16, located at the right side of the grind section.
b. Locate the bridge sprocket inside its white cover, just inside door 16.
c. Reach inside the sprocket cover and rotate the sprocket clockwise or
counterclockwise as needed to move the bridge and position the coarse
and fine spindles.
2. Place an 8-in. long standard bubble level side to side (with one end of the level
pointing toward the left side of the machine cabinet and the other end pointing
toward the right side) on the left work chuck mounting plate.
3. Read the level and adjust the position of the spindle assembly as needed to
meet the goal.
GOAL: The reading of the level should be centered within the
level's marks.
To adjust the position:
a. Locate the lower left spindle side to side adjusting screw, a two-pitch
screw extending horizontally from the side of the lower left spindle
assembly.
Notes:
Access the adjusting screw through the door 14 opening.
The screw is labeled for easy identification.
