First 50 Hours
Belt Drives Adjustment
Check all belt idler adjustments after the first
50 hours of service. Most belt stretch occurs
during the first hours of service.
After the
initial adjustments, check the belt adjustment
as required.
First 100 Hours
After the first 100 hours:
• P
erform the daily or 10 hour service (see
Chapter 20, Lubrication and Maintenance).
• Watch CommandCenter display for engine
temperature and engine oil pressure
diagnostic trouble codes. If codes appear,
refer to Chapter 22, Diagnostic Codes, for
further information.
• Check the engine oil level (if needed, add
John Deere Break-In Oil) and coolant level
frequently and watch for signs of leaks.
• Check engine air intake system hoses and
clamps for tightness.
•
Drain the crankcase by opening the oil
tank drain and closing it once the oil has
drained.
• Remove and dispose of oil filters properly.
•
Clean the filter mount base, apply oil to
gasket and install new filter element. Hand
tighten only.
• Fill
the crankcase with proper amount of
engine oil (see Chapter 19,
Lubricants, for oil specifications)
NEVER check or adjust belt drives with
the engine running. ALWAYS shut OFF
the engine, set the parking brake, and
remove the key.
IMPORTANT! If diesel fuel sulfur content
exceeds 0.7 percent, change oil every 100
hours.
