Header Engage/Header
Reverse
The header engage switch controls the
header auger and pickup
and functions as
follows:
• A properly equipped h
eader must be
installed with both hydraulic and electrical
connections made for the header to
operate. The separator must also be on
for the header to function.
•
For normal field operation, push the
header engage switch forward until it
latches (top photo)
. This will start the
header auger and pick-
up in a feeding
direction, unless the header reverse foot
switch (middle photo) is pressed.
•
If the header reverse foot switch is
pressed while the header is engaged, the
pickup will stop and the header auger will
run in the direction opposite of feeding.
• The header can be stopped by pressing
the header engage switch and moving it
to the OFF position. It can also be
stopped
with the quick stop switch
located on the top of the control handle
(bottom photo). To restart the header
after using this switch, move the header
engage switch first to OFF and then back
to ON.

WARNING
Never attempt to engage the header
switch without the header hydraulic power
hoses either connected to a header or
connected to each other in a “loop.”
Attempts to do so could damage the
header hydraulic power system.
