9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Unloading Conveyor
Troubleshooting
The off-loading conveying system is powered
by an auxiliary hydraulic system. If the
conveyor is not working correctly:
1.
Make sure sufficient fuel is available in
your hydraulic reservoir.
2.
Check tension of the belt to the forward
pump drive. If not tight, correct as needed.
3. If the conveyor still won’t function, check
for pressure by attaching a pressure
gauge to the hydraulic pressure test port.
(Your AMADAS/John Deere dealer service
department should have access to a
pressure gauge. It may be necessary to
call a service technician for this test. This
test port is the same port as used in other
John Deere combine equipment.)
4. If hydraulic system pressure is present and
the conveyor still will not function, the
problem is either in the valving or in the
electrical system.
5.
Use the test buttons to test the valving.
With the OCS conveyor engaged, press
one or both of the test buttons located on
the solenoid. One of the buttons tests the
conveyor; the other tests the unloading
auger. If you manually press either of
these but
tons and the respective
component (conveyor or auger) functions,
then the problem probably lies with the
electrical system. Refer to the schematics
and wiring codes in the 9980 Electrical
Manual or contact your AMADAS/John
Deere dealer.
When performing this test, make sure the
separator is not running. Use a ladder or
other suitable means to reach this height.
Do NOT step on the conveyor or any
moving parts while performing this test.

NOTE: Sometimes the conveyor will not
function because material has collected
and is causing the conveyor to jam.
Pressing the reset buttons a couple of
times may dislodge the material and clear
out the problem.
