Before Transporting
Before you take your combine out on the
roads, check with local laws for the following:
Width - make sure your combine fits within
the width laws of your locale before taking
it on public roads. The combine is
approximately 203 inches (516 cm
) wide
with single tires and 246 inches (625 cm)
with dual tires.
Flashing lights Flashing warnin
g lights
and tail lights provide a warning to
operators of vehicles approaching from the
front and rear. Use the combine’s flashing
warning lights whenever you drive on
public roads UNLESS your locale prohibits
the use of flashing lights.
Set the tire pr
essure to the tire
manufacturer’s suggested pressure for
road travel.
Drive with Caution
Use good driving sense when driving or towing
your combine. Drive cautiously, as dictated by
an oversized, slow-
moving vehicle. Help
prevent collisions with other vehicles by being
aware of other vehicles at all times.
Frequently check for traffic from the rear,
especially when turning.
Follow local regulations for lighting and
marking your combine. Make sure all lighting
and markings are visible and kept in good
working order. Replace or repair any
damaged lights or markings before taking your
machine out on the road.
CAUTION
Sound the horn before starting the
engine to clear people away from the
combine.
Use reasonable speeds for road or
field conditions.
ALWAYS
use warning lights as
appropriate for day and night use.
NEVER transport on the road with the
header on.
NEVER drive on the road with peanuts
in the basket.
ALWAYS
fasten seat belts for both
operator and passenger.
Drive with care take into account the
size and height of the combine when
going around curves or making turns.
ALWAYS
use hand signals or turn
signals. (Note that turn signals need to
be turned off as they are not self-
canceling.)
