Overhead Teeth
There are two sets of overhead teeth on the
9980 combine.
•
The forward overhead teeth are located
over the #1 threshing cylinder. The
control is located in the front of the
combine (A) (top photo) (middle photo)
• The rear overhead teeth are located over
the #3 threshing cylinder. The control is
l
ocated outside of the cab (B) (top photo)
(bottom photo).
Both sets of teeth perform the same function
as follows:
1. Typically, engage the
forward overhead
teeth first to clean strip vine material off of
the #1 cylinder. This cylinder is located
directly behind the header auger.
2. If,
after engaging the forward overhead
teeth AND increasing threshing speed,
the combine is still having trouble
threshing peanuts off of the vine, engage
the rear overhead teeth.
