Draining
1.
Drain the radiator by opening the drain
located on the bottom of the radiator (top
photo).
To access the drain, use a
flashlight and look under the radiator.
2.
Remove the clamp and hose from the
surge tank (middle photo).
3. Close the radiator drain.
4. Install the hose on the surge tank and fill
the system with clean water.
5. Install the radiator cap (bottom photo) and
run the engine until it reaches operating
temperature with the heater ON.
6. Shut OFF the engine.
7. Carefully open the radiator drain and drain
the water out before rust or sediment
settles.
8. Close the radiator drain.
9.
Refill the system with a solution of clean
water and John Deere Cooling System
Cleaner PT500 or its equal. Follow the
instructions with the cleaner.
10.
After using the cleaner, flush the system
with clean water and drain.
11. Close the radiator drain, and
close the
latch rotary screen door. Fill as described
on the following page.
