9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Operation
The combine is shipped from the factory with
permanent-
type 50/50 ethylene glycol
antifreeze in the cooling system. The system
must be clean and in good condition for
operation. Loss of pressure will result in
overheating and lost of coolant.
To maintain the system:
• Leave antifreeze in the cooling system all
year around. If the coolant is
drained, replace it with the correct coolant
and conditioner. (See Chapter 19, Fuel
and Lubricants,
information.)
• Check for:
Recovery tank coolant level
Plugged radiator
Leaking hoses
Broken fan belt or rotary screen belt
Engine fan running at high speed.
•
To prevent mineral deposits, do not use
hard water.
• The use of c
oolant conditioner is
recommended to protect against engine
and cooling system wear. Add .9L (one
quart) to radiator when coolant is
changed.
Coolant conditioner contains alkali. Avoid
contact with eyes. Do NOT take internally.
In case of contact, immediately wash skin
with soap and water. For eyes, flush with
large amounts of water for at least 15
minutes. Call a physician. Keep out of
reach of children.
