Engine Service 9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine
Cooling System
Important Information
Every two years or 1500 hours, drain the
cooling system.
Avoid being scalded when the radiator
cap is removed. NEVER open the
radiator when the engine is hot.
ALWAYS allow the system to cool before
draining the radiator.
To open the cap, turn the cap slightly to
the radiator stop and pause. This allows
the steam to safely vent. After the steam
has completed vented, carefully open the
cap completely.
IMPORTANT! The following items are
important to remember:
• Make sure the radiator has sufficient
coolant by checking the coolant level in
the recovery tank.
• Never pour cold water into a hot engine
as that can crack the cylinder block or
head.
•
Do NOT operate engine without
coolant, even for a few minutes.
• Never fill the radiator when the engine
is overheated, unless the engine is
idling slowly.
• Pour coolant slowly.
• Check coolant level when engine is
cold.
