9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Performance
10% Speed Reduction
This control should be used when less
aggressive picking action is desired. The 10%
speed reduction will normally aid in
performance when the peanuts are very dry or
brittle.
Starting Position
: Always begin harvesting
with the 10% speed reduction control in the full
clockwise position, delivering full speed.
Adjustments
: If, when the picking control
board and breast spring bars are completely
disengaged and/or the springs removed,
peanuts are being removed from the vines
well, but shelling is still occurring, it may be
desirable to reduce the engine speed. This
will slow the picking cylinders for less
aggressive thrashing of the peanuts.
To reduce engine speed, turn the knob
counterclockwise.
