Performance 9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine
Header Height Control
The header height control is located on the
multi-function handle. The header should be
operated at a height where the springs run
just barely above the soil, low enough to pick
all the vines up into the header, but high
enough to avoid picking up foreign material
such as dirt clods, soil, and other debris.
Running
the header too high will result in
peanut loss, while running the header too low
can result in excessive spring wear.
See Chapter 3, Operator’s Controls
, for
specific information on how to set header
height control.

NOTE! To change the physical height of
the header, add or remove spacer rings to
or from the gauge wheels. Or, adjust the
gauge wheel jacks, depending on how the
header is equipped.
