3. Clean, wash, or replace the primary filter.
4. Hold a bright light inside the element (A)
and check carefully for holes. Discard
any element which shows the slightest
hole.
5.
Be sure the outer screen (B) is not
dented. If it is, vibration will quickly wear
a hole in the filter.
6.
Be sure filter gasket is in good condition.
If the gasket (C) is damaged or missing,
replace the element.
7.
Do NOT clean or wash the safety
element. Install a new one if it is dirty.
Do NOT remove the metal wrap on the
filter.
8. Reinsert primary filter onto safety element
(middle sketch).
9. Replace the dust cover (bottom photo).
10.
Check all connections in the air intake
system. Be certain that they are tight.
