Service Intervals
The oil and filter service intervals should be
used as a guideline. Actual service intervals
also depend on operation and maintenance
practices. It is suggested that you
use oil
analysis to determine the actual useful life of
the oil and to aid in selection of the proper oil
and filter service interval.
Oil and filter service intervals are based on a
combination of oil pan capacity, type of engine
oil and filter used, and sulfur content of the
diesel fuel.
Diesel Fuel Sulfur Level
The
sulfur level of the diesel fuel affects the
engine oil and filter service intervals as in the
table.
Use of diesel fuel with sulfur content less
than 0.10% (1000 ppm) is strongly
recommended.
Use of diesel fuel with sulfur content 0.10%
(1000 ppm) to 0.5
0% (5000 ppm) may
result in REDUCED oil and filter change
intervals as shown in the table.
BEFORE using diesel fuel with sulfur
content greater then 0.50% (5000 ppm),
contact your AMADAS/John Deere dealer.
Do NOT use diesel with sulfur content
greater than 1.00% (10,000 ppm).
Oil types
(premium or standard) in the table
include:
“Premium Oils” include John Deere PLUS-
50, ACEA E7, or ACEA E6 oils.
“Standard Oils” include John Deere TORQ-
GARD SUPREME, API CJ-4, API CI-4
PLUS, API CI-
4, ACEA E5, or ACEA E4
oils.

IMPORTANT! If using BIODIESEL blends
greater than B20, shorten the oil change
interval to half of the recommended
service interval or monitor engine oil using
OILSCAN to ensure that fuel dilution does
not exceed 5%.
