Operation 9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine
General Operation
1. Move the multi-function handle
(top photo).
2. Press the slow idle engine speed control
switch (A).
3. Make sure the yellow header engage
switch (B) is OFF (center position).
4. Make sure the yellow separator switch (C)
is OFF (center position).
A – Slow engine idle
B – Separator engage
C – Header engage
If the combine can be started with the
multi-function handle, separator switch or
header switch set to “ON,” the starting
system needs diagnosing. See your
AMADAS/John Deere dealer.
Engine exhaust fumes can cause sickness
or death. We do NOT recommend
running the engine in an enclosed area.
Before starting the engine, make sure
everyone is clear of the machine. Sound
the horn to warn others.
