9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Operation
•
The machine is shipped from the factory
with a permanent type of 50/50 ethylene
glycol antifreeze mix.
• To check the coolant level, a
engine
to cool. Then, open the access
door and check the surge tank. The
coolant level should be at the FULL
COLD mark on the surge tank.
• Leave antifreeze in the cooling system all
year long. If the coolant is lost or drained,
replace it with the correct coolant and
conditioner (see recommendations in
Chapter 19, Fuels and Lubricants.).
• After adding antifreeze, turn the heater ON
and run the engine until it reaches
operating temperature. This mixes the
solution and circulates it through the
system.
IMPORTANT! Do NOT try to drain the
cooling system to protect against freezing.
The heater does not drain completely, so
freeze damage may result.
IMPORTANT! A special radiator cap is
used on 6.8 L engines. If the radiator cap
is damaged or is missing, it
replaced by an equivalent radiator cap.
