Engine Oil
1. Check the engine oil level with the dipstick
(
top photo) daily.
2. Remove the dipstick and check the oil
level. The o
il level should be between
ADD and the top of the cross-hatch area
on t
he dipstick (see sketch). If the oil leve
l
is
below the
ADD mark, add oil as
needed. (See Chapter 19,
Fuel and
Lubricants, for oil recommendations.).
3.
Remove the cap and add oil if needed
(bottom photo). Make sure the
cap is
replaced and securely tightened.
4. W
atch for oil leaks.
Dipstick
IMPORTANT! It is vital that engine oil is
maintained at the correct level to ensure a
long service life for your machine. Please
read the following:
•
Check oil level with the machine
p
arked on level ground to get an
accurate reading.
• Make sure the dipstick is screwed in or
pushed completely into the housing
before you remove it to check the oil
level.
• N
EVER operate the machine with t
he
oi
l level less than the ADD line on the
dipstick.
Replace oil as
needed
