(1)
Use a calibrated digital multimeter with
proper function.
Adjustment digital multimeter:
- Diode check
Measuring points:
- B+
- Alternator housing.
(2)
Disconnect all terminals.
(3)
Connect + terminal of the digital
multimeter to the B+ terminal of the
alternator.
The digital multimeter shall show OL (open
load).
Refer to Fig. 24 - 47.
(4)
Connect - terminal of the digital multimeter
to the alternator housing.
(5)
Do a diode check.
(6)
If the digital multimeter does not show OL
(open load), replace the alternator.
