(1)
Use a calibrated digital multimeter with
proper function.
Adjustment digital multimeter:
- Diode check
Measuring points:
- B+
- Alternator housing.
(2)
Disconnect all terminals.
(3)
Connect - terminal of the digital
multimeter to the B+ terminal of the
alternator.
The digital multimeter shall show
~1V [0.8V – 1.1V].
Refer to Fig. 24 - 48.

Connect + terminal of the digital
multimeter to the alternator housing.
(5)
Complete a diode check.
(6)
If the digital multimeter shows OL (open
load) or a value which is different from
the permitted range 0.8V – 1.1V, replace
the alternator.
