71 -Maintenance Procedures
- use the screw of BPS1 (torque 5 Nm) to connect the combined pigtails
of IAT1 & BPS1 and
- use the screw of BPS2 (torque 5 Nm) to connect the combined pigtails
of BPS2 & IAT2. Refer to Fig. 71 - 49.
Attach the cable branch for IAT1 and IAT2
sensors with a cable tie on the connector of
the sensor.
Install the glow plugs branch behind the
thermostat.
Refer to Fig. 71 - 51 and Fig. 71 - 52.
Install the engine wiring harness at the
gearbox side.
Cable branches must be parallel to
each other as long as possible.
Refer to Fig. 71 - 53.
Attach the single cables branches together.
Make sure that the wires are not outer of the
green marked area.
This will prevent problems with other
customer installation.
Attach the engine harness to the EGR cover
on the engine block.
The bend radius before the clamp
must not be too small.
Use the clamp [03].
Torque 9 Nm.
Refer to Fig. 71 - 54.
Attach the branches in the area below the
intake manifold after you install the starter,
gearbox, and GPC.
Attach the coolant temperature cable to the
coolant temperature sensor (CTS).
Install the pigtails of FTS & PCV with the
screw mounted on the cylinder head.
Install the pigtails of CTS & FMU.
Use the screw position shown in Fig.
71 - 58.
If the engine is removed from the aircraft with the screw shown in Fig. 71 -
58, the lifting eyelet is installed.
If the engine is installed on the aircraft, the lifting eyelet is not installed.
The figures in further steps for pigtail FMU & CTS installation show the
lifting eyelet.
For ring terminal or blade terminal installation, only the position of the screw
is important.
- Tighten the ring terminals together with the mounting screw of the lifting
eyelet. Torque 12 Nm. Refer to Fig. 71 - 59.
