Cause Paper is jammed.
Action Follow the instructions displayed to remove the jammed
paper.
Refer to "Paper Jams" (P.501).
Cause The machine is in the system administrator mode.
Action The machine does not receive a fax during the system
administrator mode. Exit the system administrator mode.
Cause A password is set.
Action When a password is set, the machine accepts only fax
data or polling with the password in F code
communication.
Cause The receiving mode is set to manual.
Action Receive the fax manually, or set the receiving mode to
Auto.
Refer to "Fax Receiving Mode" (P.389).
Cause The sending mode is manual.
Action To use FAX Information Service, set the receiving mode to
manual on the on-hook screen to enter an information
code, and press the <Start> button.
Cause The document is not correctly loaded on the sender's
machine.
Action Check it to the sender.
Note • Image quality may be affected by the condition of the
sender's machine, as well as the condition of this
machine.
The image quality is poor. Cause The drum cartridge is damaged.
No Action Copy a document. If the image quality is poor, replace the
drum cartridge with a new one.
Refer to "Replacing the Drum Cartridge" (P.428).
Cause The document glass on the sender's machine is dirty.
Action Check it to the sender.
Note • Image quality may be affected by a problem of the
sender's machine, as well as a problem of this
machine.
Cause The resolution setting on the sender 's machine is too low.
Action Check it to the sender.
Note • Image quality may be affected by a problem of the
sender's machine, as well as a problem of this
machine.
