EAS Character set contains a severity level 1, 2 or 3 from the EAS decoder (e.g. Sage ENDEC).
This severity level will be used to determine the color of the background of the crawl and/or
the Text color.
The “Banner” which is the banner the text runs on, the “Background” which is the background
behind the banner and text and the “Text” which is the text on the banner are all adjusted in
the menu below. The user can set where the banner is positioned (top/bottom), and the colors
for each severity level.
The EAS crawl is effectively the final Down Stream Key, this will automatically be displayed and
cannot be adjusted (not available any other way on Masterpiece), and will be placed on top of
the any program output video source.
The crawl background width can be manually set (by default it will be oversized with respect to
the font size), as such can cover the entire screen.
This is set per Severity. This is split into 2 parts above and below the text. The crawl Background
“Opacity” and “Color”, and “Text Color” is set per severity level.
Note: The outputs where EAS will appear are determined in the Eng Config
- Output Setup menu, where the “EAS Overlay” is set to “Yes”.
This needs to be applied to any output that is being used, even set to overlay
Fade to Black.
