4.
!
CAUTION:
If the application of this slot/circuit pack was
to provide service for an OC-3c signal–then
care must be exercised to delete all three
STS-1 cross-connections (in each NE of
the signal’s path) after first removing the
OC-3c signal. Otherwise, the
incoming
(from OC3) STS LOP
alarm will be
produced.
NOTE:
If you have any doubt as to whether or
not the circuit pack should be
removed, please confer with your
supervisor.
While looking at the report, determine whether
or not the slot for the circuit pack to be removed
appears in the West or East
Cross-Connect columns. If a
cross-connection is shown, then traffic is
possible at this slot.
Does the slot for the circuit pack that is to be
removed still have cross-connections assigned?
If YES, then continue with Step 5.
If NO, then continue with Step 6.
—
5. Delete the cross-connections for the slot of the
circuit pack that is to be removed.

6. Does the circuit order indicate that the circuit
pack is to be removed from the shelf slot?
If YES, then continue with Step 7.
If NO, then continue with Step 16.
7. Remove the shelf cover from the low-speed
shelf that contains the OC-3/IS-3 circuit pack(s).
