Establish Cross-Connection Between FT-2000 1+1
OC-3/OC-12 Interface and DDM-2000 OC-3/OC-12

1. Overview: This procedure uses special provisioning to provision an FT-2000
OC-3/OC-12 low-speed interface (see Figure 1, Node 3) for 1+1 protection
and connect it to a DDM-2000 OC-3, OC-12, or FiberReach system ring
interface. This procedure is useful when a DDM-2000 ring release is needed
for feature or compatibility reasons but interconnection with a 1+1interfaceis
also required. The FT-2000 can be any release that provides an OC-3/OC-12
low-speed interface. However, DCC connectivity requires compatible
DDM-2000 and FT-2000 software releases. DDM-2000 OC-3 Release 15.0,
or later, will provide interconnection of its main ring interface to a 1+1
OC-3/OC-12 interface without special provisioning of the FT-2000 low-speed
interface.

Use a static ground wrist strap whenever handling circuit packs or
working on an FT-2000 terminal to prevent electrostatic discharge
