Copy Software From One Network Element to
Another Network Element

1. Overview: This procedure is used to copy the software in one
FT-2000 network element to another FT-2000 network element
through the data communications channel (DCC) residing in an OC-3
or OC-48 signal. All of the FT-2000 network elements must be
running Release 5.0 or later software. This procedure can be
accomplished while the FT-2000 ring is in service.
Required Test Equipment:
Craft Interface Terminal (CIT)
Wrist Strap
NOTE:
Release 5 allows copying software over the OC-48 line. Release 6
allows copying software over either the OC-3 or OC-48 lines.
NOTE:
For a general description on using a personal computer in the
following procedure, refer to DLP-529.
If required, connect the craft interface termi-
nal (CIT) to the local FT-2000 network ele-
ment and condition it.

The CIT user must have a "privileged" security level.
Log in to the CIT using the expert mode by
entering cit expert.
