5. From the STS-3 Tributary Map Report, identify the
source, destination, primary, secondary, and
intermediate nodes and provision those nodes by
referring to the examples in Figures 1, 2, and 3. The
following TID rules should be observed when specifying
the source node TID, secondary node TID, and
destination node TID.
A. The source node TID (1-way cross-connections) and the secondary
node TID (1-way-DRI cross-connections) must be the
same
at all
nodes. Which TID is chosen is arbitrary but is normally one of the
nodes having a 1-way-DRI cross-connection.
B. The destination node TID depends on exactly what cross-connections
are present. To determine the destination node TID from the local
node, assign the following:
1. X is the TID of the local node.
2. Y is the TID of the next downstream node (transmit direction)
with a 1-way-DRI cross-connection. X and Y will never be the
same node.
3. Z is the TID of the last node with a 1-way drop cross-connection
when following the circuit from node X to node Y. Z can be node
X or Y, some other node between X and Y, or null if there are no
1-way drop cross-connections between X and Y.
4. If Z is X or null, use the TID of node Y as the destination node
TID.
5. Otherwise, use the TID of node Z as the destination node TID.
6. Discontinue the login to the node. (To discontinue a
remote login, refer to DLP-524.)
—
7. This completes the procedure to provision a 1-way-DRI
circuit for video distribution.
