Clear NE ACTY and/or FE ACTY (Regardless of
Alarm Level)
Overview: This procedure is used to clear one or more conditions indicated by a
lighted NE ACTY and/or FE ACTY LED(s) on the user panel. (These conditions may
or may not be accompanied by an alarm.)
1. Are you responsible for maintaining the remote FT-2000 or DDM-2000
network element (NE) as well as the local FT-2000 NE?
If YES, then continue with Step 2.
If NO, then continue with Step 21.
2. Is the FE ACTY LED lighted on the local user panel?
If YES, then continue with Step 3.
If NO, then continue with Step 21.
3. Is the CIT conditioned and connected to the local FT-2000 NE?
If YES, then continue with Step 4.
If NO, then complete DLP-501 and return to this procedure.
4. At the CIT, select FAULT-Retrieve-Network Alarms to obtain a Network
Alarms Report (Figure 1 shows an example for Release 6 and later; other
examples for earlier releases are shown in Chapter 11 of this manual.)
NOTE:
The Network Alarms Report will look like the example in Figure 1 if the local NE
is an FT-2000 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal with Release 6 or later software. Earlier
software releases produce slightly different reports which are shown in Chapter
11 of this manual.
5. Referring to the column headings of the Network Alarms Report obtained in
Step 4, is the rightmost column labeled Local Ring (asinFigure1), TID,or
Event Description?
If Local Ring, then continue with Step 9.
If TID, then continue with Step 9.
If Event Description, then continue with Step 6.
