NOTE:
All of the following circuit pack replacements, except for the SYSCTL and the
SYSMEM, apply only to the line containing the original circuit pack.
7. Identify the first alternative replacement circuit pack (shown in the column
labeled 1).
8. Replace only one circuit pack identified as the first alternative replacement cir-
cuit pack.

9.IstheFAULT LED still lighted on the original replacement circuit pack?
If YES, then continue with Step 10.
If NO, then continue with Step 14.
10. Reinstall the circuit pack replaced in Step 8.
11. Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for any additional circuit packs of the same type
identified in Step 6.
12. Repeat Steps 6 through 11 for each remaining alternative replacement circuit
pack type until either (1) the FAULT LED on the original replacement circuit
pack is off or (2) all the alternative replacement circuit pack types have been
tried. Then, continue with Step 13.
13. Is the FAULT LED lighted on the original replacement circuit pack?
If YES, then go to TAP-108.
If NO, then continue with Step 14.
NOTE:
The remaining steps help prevent returning nondefective circuit packs for repair.
14. Is the NE running Release 5.0.3, R7.0.1, or a later release?
If NO, then continue with Step 18.
If YES, then reinstall the original circuit pack.
15. Is the FAULT LED lighted on the original circuit pack?
If YES, then continue with Step 16.
If NO, then STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
16. Reinstall the
original replacement circuit pac
k.
17. Verify the FAULT LED is off on the
original replacement circuit pack
.
18. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
