8. Log in to that network element (the designated DS-NE). If a remote login is
possible and you need additional help, refer to DLP-524.
9. At the CIT, select SECURITY-Set-Network Element and provision the
Directory Server parameter to Yes.
10. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map-Network to obtain a
Network Map Report.
11. Verify from the report that one and only one node is provisioned as the
DS-NE.
Nice to Know: If you are using Release 6 or later software, you can verify that
only one node is provisioned as the DS-NE by obtaining a Network Map Report
(at the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map-Network). If you are
using Release 4.1 or 5 software, you can verify that only one node is provisioned
as the DS-NE by obtaining a Ring Map Report (at the CIT, select CONFIGURA-
TION-Retrieve-Map-Ring). If you are using Release 3 or 4.0 software, you
mustlogintoeachnodeintheringtoverifytheyes or no DS-NE parameter
value (at the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Network Element).
12. Log off from the network element.
13. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
